چکیده
Magnetically driven miniature soft robots exhibit fast and dexterous responses to an applied external magnetic field. With remote manipulation, controlled navigation of can be realized within hard-to-access spaces for potential use in the human body. Existing using digital light processing are fabricated from planar sheets, thus have limited shape transformations locomotive behaviors. Herein, a multilayer 3D printing method is reported patterning nanoparticles ultraviolet (UV)-curable polymer matrix. Various structures 10 mm overall size with volumes at different parts, which outperform 2D folded shapes terms robustness kinematic flexibility. By programming heterogeneous magnetization discrete robot segments, torque-induced changes including gripping, rolling, swimming, walking induced by global actuation Stacked design features minimum dimension 200 μm encoded resolution 350 process. Meanwhile, enhanced deformation flexibility formation orientation-anchoring mechanisms created integrating multiple materials distinct mechanical properties, respectively, enables creation versatile multi-material actuators.

Rotational 3D printing of damage-tolerant composites with programmable mechanics
Natural composites exhibit exceptional mechanical performance that often arises from complex fiber arrangements within continuous matrices. Inspired by these natural systems, we developed a rotational 3D printing method that enables spatially controlled orientation of short fibers in polymer matrices solely by varying the nozzle rotation speed relative to the printing speed. Using this method, ...

Shape-programmable matter is a class of active materials whose geometry can be controlled to potentially achieve mechanical functionalities beyond those of traditional machines. Among these materials, magnetically actuated matter is particularly promising for achieving complex time-varying shapes at small scale (overall dimensions smaller than 1 cm). However, previous work can only program thes...

Hybrid 3D printing is a new method for producing soft electronics that combines direct ink writing of conductive and dielectric elastomeric materials with automated pick-and-place of surface mount electronic components within an integrated additive manufacturing platform. Using this approach, insulating matrix and conductive electrode inks are directly printed in specific layouts. Passive and a...
